The best villages to buy a property in the north of Mauritius
Grand-Baie, Pereybère, Calodyne, Trou aux Biches, Mont Choisy, Cap Malheureux, Goodlands and Pamplemousses: these are the main villages that make up the north of Mauritius.
Grand Bay
Grand Bay makes a lasting impression with its emerald lagoon and by offering the best nightlife on the island. Very popular with visitors and foreigners settled in the country, the seaside town is always lively. Nautical activities, nearby conveniences, numerous animations for the children, a night life always in movement for the adults, cinema, cultural life, one never gets bored in this part of the island. For a successful and peaceful family settlement, Grand Bay is close to many international schools, but also to the Clinique du Nord and the Clinique Fortis Darné.
Pereybere
About 50 restaurants now line the 2 km coastal road that leads north to Pereybère, once a simple fishing village! Less touristy than Grand Bay, Pereybère remains a practical village, but also pleasant because of its warm summer climate and mild winters.
Calodyne
Here again, authenticity is the name of the game! Calodyne is ideal if you are looking for a property with a sea view, close to the squares and amenities. Located near Grand Bay, Calodyne is only 15 minutes from international schools and 30 minutes from Port Louis, the capital.
Mount Choisy
Mont Choisy is a village in full development. With many amenities, white sandy beaches and a golf course. Indeed, Mont Choisy’s vocation is to address the amateurs of high-end real estate, through numerous projects already developed, under development and to come.
Cap Malheureux
We are no longer in year-round tourism, but in a preserved, dreamlike setting. Famous for its church “Notre Dame Auxiliatrice”, this village is close to the sea and many nautical activities.
Trou aux Biches
Its two-kilometer long white sandy beach is rightly considered one of the most beautiful in Mauritius, so much so that it was named “World’s Leading Beach Destination” at the World Travel Award in 2011. Trou aux Biches is a lively village, but is able to offer a calm living environment depending on the area where you are. With all the necessary amenities for daily life, the village is modern and warm at the same time.
